BEDFORD — While conversations about funeral planning are often difficult to have, organizers of the 2026 Senior Fair presented by Vertical Home Health hope to make those discussions easier by connecting families with trusted local professionals and valuable information on Wednesday, May 20.

The annual event at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church is hosted by 1340 WBIW, Southern Indiana’s Classic Hits 105.5, and 102.5 Litefm will feature representatives from several local funeral homes, along with monument companies specializing in headstones and memorial products.

Funeral planning is one of the most important preparations individuals can make for their families, yet it is often delayed because people are uncomfortable discussing end-of-life arrangements. The Senior Fair aims to provide a welcoming environment where attendees can ask questions, explore options, and gather information at their own pace.
Funeral care professionals will be available to discuss pre-planning services, burial and cremation options, veterans’ benefits, memorial services, and financial considerations. Monument companies will also provide information about custom headstones, grave markers, and memorial designs.
The fair will also provide opportunities for attendees to compare services, learn about pricing options, and understand the steps involved in creating a funeral plan. Organizers encourage adults of all ages to attend, emphasizing that it is never too early to begin planning for the future.
In addition to funeral care resources, the Senior Fair will feature more than 50 vendors focused on healthcare, home services, insurance, wellness, and senior living support.
The free event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to the public on Wednesday, 5/20/26.
