Obituary: Alfred E. Hillebrand Jr.

Alfred E. Hillebrand, Jr., was born in Indianapolis on March 10, 1949, to Alfred E.J. and Anna May (Faurote) Hillebrand. He resided in Rush County most of his life, with the last few years being in Lawrence County.

Alfred retired from Trane Company in Rushville and owned and operated Big Blue Keg in Carthage and Northend Package in Rushville in Lawrence County. He worked part-time at Walmart, JC Food, and Rural King. Alfred was a Navy Veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.

Alfred loved to hunt and fish, spend time with family, and interact with customers at his various employments.

Alfred is survived by his spouse, Diana; one son, Patrick; one daughter, Alanna “Pebbles”; six grandkids; and eight great-grandkids. He was preceded by his parents, Alfred and Anna May Hillebrand; two brothers, Raymond and Ronald; one sister, Rosalie; and one granddaughter, Nicole.

Memorial contributions in remembrance of Alfred may be made to the American Cancer Society or your choice of Animal Shelter or Rescue.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Masonic services will precede services, and Pastor John Wall will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, the same day, in the mortuary. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery with military rites.
