Sweet Support: Culver’s ‘Scoops of Thanks Day’ returns May 7 to benefit FFA

INDIANA – Culver’s is proving that a little change can lead to big growth for the future of American agriculture. On Thursday, May 7, 2026, the restaurant chain will host its annual Scoops of Thanks Day, offering guests a single scoop of Fresh Frozen Custard in exchange for a $1 donation to local FFA chapters and agricultural education.

Now in its eleventh year, the fundraiser has become a cornerstone of Culver’s Thank You Farmers Project. Since the initiative’s inception in 2013, the brand has raised over $8 million to support the farmers who secure the nation’s food supply and the students who will lead the industry tomorrow.

The event has seen massive participation in recent years. In 2025 alone, guests across the country purchased 171,319 scoops, translating into significant financial support for local communities. Since Scoops of Thanks Day began in 2016, the single-day event has generated more than $1 million specifically for FFA chapters.

“Seeing Scoops of Thanks Day continue to grow over the years has been incredibly special,” said Alison Demmer, senior public relations manager at Culver’s. “It’s a reflection of how much our guests and restaurant teams care about supporting agriculture and giving back.”

To mark this year’s event, Culver’s is debuting a brand-new Flavor of the Day inspired by the mission: Blue Barn Brownie.

The new creation features:

  • Vanilla Fresh Frozen Custard
  • Swirls of fudge and caramel
  • Gooey brownie pieces

The name is a nod to the iconic blue jackets worn by FFA members and the “Thank You Farmers Project” barn paintings seen across the Midwest.

How to Participate

Participation is simple: guests visit any participating Culver’s location on May 7 and provide a $1 donation. In return, they receive a single scoop of the flavor of their choice—including the new Blue Barn Brownie.

Funds raised stay local, typically benefiting the FFA chapters in the same communities where the donations were made. This ensures that the next generation of agriscience students, farmers, and leaders has the resources they need to thrive.
