INDIANA — The American Red Cross is issuing a call for donors to give blood or platelets this spring to ensure hospitals and transfusion centers remain prepared to meet the needs of all patients. As outdoor activities and spring vacations begin to disrupt normal donation patterns, even small shifts in routine can lead to a rapid drop in available blood products.
To encourage donors, the Red Cross is offering incentives throughout the coming weeks:
- Through April 30: Donors will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice.
- May 1–17: Donors will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card by email.
Donors can schedule an appointment via the Red Cross Blood Donor App, by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good health. Please bring a blood donor card, driver’s license, or two other forms of identification. To save time, donors can use RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online on the day of their appointment.
