Blossoms, Birthdays, and Benefits: Orleans set to shine for 56th Annual Dogwood Festival and “America 250” celebration

ORLEANS – As the vibrant blooms of spring return to Southern Indiana, the historic town of Orleans is preparing to celebrate the 56th Annual Dogwood Festival, a week-long extravaganza running from April 17th through April 25th.

This year’s festivities carry a special patriotic flair with the theme “America 250,” honoring the nation’s upcoming semiquincentennial.

From the “New Event” Pickleball Bash and a charming “Tea Party on the Porch” to the crowning of the Dogwood Queen and the grand parade down Historic Maple Street, the 2026 schedule is packed with community favorites and fresh additions.

Whether you are hunting for treasures at the town-wide yard sales, enjoying the Funtime Carnival at Congress Square, or listening to live music on the Main Stage, the festival offers a heartwarming slice of Hoosier hospitality for visitors of all ages.

Important Festival Information

  • Dogwood Headquarters: Located at the Orleans Chamber office (North side of the square) for visitor info and souvenirs.
  • Weather Shelters: In the event of severe weather, the Orleans Christian Church and the Orleans United Methodist Church are designated safety areas.
  • First Aid: Stationed with the Orleans 1st Responders on the South side of the square.
