Orange County 4-H Animal ID day scheduled for May

PAOLI – Orange County 4-H will host an Animal ID/Tag Day on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Orange County Fairgrounds. The event is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All goats, sheep, poultry, and rabbits are required to attend, while swine participants should attend for tag pickup only.

Every 4-H member planning to exhibit livestock at either the County or State Fair must attend this event and complete ID worksheets to maintain eligibility for exhibition. Additionally, all beef, dairy, goat, horse and pony, rabbits, sheep, and swine must be properly identified in 4-H Online before midnight on May 15, 2026. Any animal intended for exhibition at the Indiana State Fair is required to have a DNA hair sample on file, which must be submitted to the Extension Office by May 15.
