Pace Community Action Agency issues warm “YOU” invitation to Southwestern Indiana

VINCENNES, IN — A bold and colorful invitation is making its way across Southwestern Indiana this week as Pace Community Action Agency, Inc. reaches out to the community with a simple but powerful message: “We’re inviting YOU to join us!”

The agency, which serves Daviess, Greene, Knox, and Sullivan counties, is currently moving into a high-activity spring season filled with educational opportunities, fundraising events, and essential community services.

Upcoming Ways to “Join In”

While the agency provides year-round support, several key initiatives are currently open for community participation:

  • 13th Annual Golf Scramble: Golfers are invited to the Country Oaks Golf Club in Montgomery on Friday, May 8, 2026. This four-person scramble is a major fundraiser for Pace’s Annual Fund, which supports local scholarships and youth programming.
  • Judith K. Bobe Scholarship: Graduating high school seniors who formerly attended a Pace Head Start program in the four-county area are invited to apply for this 2026 scholarship opportunity. Applications are currently being accepted.
  • Energy Assistance Program: With the April 20 deadline approaching, the agency is inviting eligible households to apply for heating and electric assistance before the 2025-2026 season concludes.

A Mission of Empowerment

Since its founding in 1965, Pace has remained a private, non-profit pillar in the region, reinvesting over $11 million annually into the local economy. From Head Start classrooms and health clinics to weatherization training and small business loans, the agency’s goal is to foster self-reliance.

Tai Blythe

“We witness the impact of our work every day—whether it’s helping an elderly individual with their utility bills or inspiring a love of learning in young children,” said Tai Blythe, CEO of Pace. “Lasting change begins with empowering people—one person, one family, and one community at a time.”
