LOOGOOTEE — The Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth is entering the final stretch of preparations for its 2026 Annual Dinner, and community members have just a few days left to contribute to the event’s signature auction.

The organization is actively seeking donations for both its live and silent auctions, which serve as a primary fundraiser to support economic development initiatives across Martin County. Officials noted that contributions of any size or type—from gift certificates and themed baskets to unique experiences or artisan goods—are welcome.
The deadline to drop off items at the Alliance office in Loogootee is Friday, March 20.
Event Details: “Growth and Inspiration”
The Annual Dinner is scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Martin County 4-H Fairgrounds and Event Center. Doors are set to open at 6:00 p.m.
This year’s program features guest speaker Shellie Phelps, with the live auction following the meal. The evening serves as a platform to celebrate the county’s recent economic milestones, which in the past year have included:
- Small Business Support: The successful launch of the “How to Launch Your Own Business” workshops in partnership with the Indiana Small Business Development Center.
- Downtown Revitalization: The ongoing 2026 Facade Grant Program, which provides matching funds for storefront improvements in Crane, Loogootee, and Shoals.
- Leadership Development: The continuation of the “Legacy” Martin County Leadership Program, aimed at cultivating the next generation of community leaders.
Supporting a Regional Mission
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Alliance relies on the Annual Dinner and local memberships to fund its operations. Roughly half of the agency’s budget is derived from these community-minded investments. These funds allow the Alliance to partner with regional entities like Radius Indiana to attract new businesses, support the defense industry at NSA Crane, and assist with housing and infrastructure projects.
How to Donate or Attend:
- Donation Drop-off: 99 W. Washington St., Loogootee, IN (by March 20).
