INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation (IJF) is proud to announce the 2026 IJF Hall of Fame Ceremony, a premier evening of celebration, live music, and philanthropy on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Cabaret at 924 North Pennsylvania Street in Indianapolis.

This annual event serves as a vital fundraiser to support the foundation’s jazz education and legacy programs.
This year’s ceremony will officially induct four distinguished figures into the Indianapolis Jazz Hall of Fame, recognizing their significant long-term contributions to the city’s vibrant music scene:
- Pharez Whitted (Trumpeter, Educator)
- Wendy Reed (Vocalist)
- Kevin Anker (Keyboardist/Pianist)
- Jozell Carter (Drummer)
“The Hall of Fame Ceremony is more than just an awards night; it’s a celebration of the artists who have built and continue to sustain the ‘Naptown’ sound,” said Rob Dixon, Artistic & Education Director. “By honoring these legends, we also look toward the future, raising funds that ensure the next generation of Indianapolis musicians has the resources and education they need to thrive.”
An Evening of Jazz and Community
The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a Champagne Welcome in the Arts Council Gallery, followed by hors d’oeuvre food stations in The Cabaret’s main room. The evening’s program features high-energy live performances, including sets by the Indianapolis Jazz Collective, a “From the 317” Showcase, and a special Hall-of-Fame Tribute performance.
In addition to the induction ceremony, guests can participate in a Live Auction and Silent Auction. Fifty percent of every ticket price directly benefits the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation’s yearly programming, including free educational workshops and legacy preservation projects.
