ORLEANS — The Orleans Town Council has officially designated the week of March 23–28 as “Town-Wide Spring Clean Sweep Week,” calling on all residents to join a community-wide effort to beautify the town ahead of the spring season.

Throughout the designated week, town crews will provide a special one-time pickup for large discarded items. Residents are asked to place these items curbside to ensure easy access for removal.
For those who prefer to drop off their unwanted items, a large dumpster will be stationed at the Orleans Town Garage on Franklin Street. Community members are encouraged to bring junk or unwanted items to this location for disposal throughout the week.
The initiative is being supported by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce and the Dogwood Festival Committee. Local officials are asking residents, youth groups, businesses, and churches to take the lead in “cleaning up, sprucing up, fixing up, and painting up” properties across the town.
The goal of the event is to prepare the community for the upcoming season by removing blight and encouraging local pride.
Residents who need to arrange for a specific pickup of large items or who have questions regarding the Clean Sweep are encouraged to contact the town hall at 812-865-2539 or visit www.town.orleans.in.us
