INDIANAPOLIS — In celebration of the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence, the Indiana State Library has announced a special U.S. 250 Trivia event scheduled for mid-April.

History buffs and trivia enthusiasts are invited to gather in the library’s History Reference Room on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a lively competition focused on the Revolutionary War and American history.
The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Participants are encouraged to form teams of eight people or fewer.
The winning team will receive prizes sponsored by the Indiana State Library Foundation, as well as general admission tickets to any of the Indiana State Museum’s 12 historical sites across the state. Please note that the admission tickets do not include special programs with additional fees or the IMAX Theater in Indianapolis.
Teams must register by April 7th to secure a spot in the competition.
For those driving to the event, parking validation will be available for attendees who use the Senate Avenue parking garage, located directly across from the library. Attendees should bring their parking tickets inside to receive validation.
Questions regarding the event can be directed to Michelle Frost at mifrost@library.in.gov.
The Indiana State Library is committed to providing equal opportunities for all participants. Individuals with disabilities who require auxiliary aids, services, or policy modifications to participate are encouraged to contact Diana Doore at 317-232-6276 or DDoore@library.IN.gov.
While the library requests as much notice as possible to arrange accommodations, requests must be submitted no later than 48 hours before the event.
