WASHINGTON — Get your spoons ready: Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) has officially announced the return of its highly anticipated Annual Chili Cook-Off. The community-favorite fundraiser is set for Thursday, March 12, and aims to bring the heat to support the United Way of Daviess County.

The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a perfect lunchtime window for local residents and hospital staff to sample a wide array of homemade recipes.
This year’s cook-off features a competitive roster of entries prepared by both DCH employees and local community participants. Chefs will be vying for bragging rights in two distinct categories:
- Best Overall: Awarded to the crowd-favorite balanced bowl.
- Best Spicy: Reserved for the entry that brings the most impressive kick.
How to Participate
Hungry guests have multiple ways to support the cause, with all proceeds benefiting the United Way’s local initiatives:
| Option | Price | What’s Included |
| The Meal | $5 | A full bowl of your favorite chili. |
| The Taster | $5 | Access to taste testing across all entries. |
| The Works | $10 | Both taste testing and a full bowl of your choice. |
The United Way of Daviess County focuses on health, education, and financial stability within the local community. By attending the cook-off, participants are directly contributing to programs that provide a safety net for neighbors in need.
