BEDFORD — In a stunning display of local generosity, the 2026 Relive the Night Gala raised a staggering $128,533.00 for Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services (LCCPS). The event, which has quickly become one of the region’s most anticipated social gatherings, took place on February 21st at The Shamrock Center.
Since its inception in 2022, the Gala committee has remained dedicated to supporting LCCPS, an all-volunteer organization that provides essential resources—such as gas cards, transportation, medical supplies, and nutritional supplements—to local residents battling cancer. LCCPS relies entirely on local donations to sustain its mission.
The Gala, which traditionally sells out almost immediately, featured an evening of dancing, games, and a dinner catered by Cedar Hill Catering. A significant portion of the night’s success was driven by the high-stakes King and Queen competition.
Candidates for the court solicit “votes” from the community, with one dollar equaling one vote. This year, the candidates alone raised an incredible $89,416.68.
The 2026 Royalty: Brent Voigtschild was crowned King and Jaylynn Holmes was named Queen.
King Candidates: Tim Smith, Blaine Mackey, Shawn Collingsworth, James MaDaris, and Jeremy Mullis.
Queen Candidates: Jana Johnson, Madelyn Nelson, and Alexia Cochran.

Beyond the royalty competition, guests participated in both silent and live auctions, further bolstering the final donation total.
With this year’s record-breaking total, the Relive the Night Gala committee has now donated over $308,000 to LCCPS in just five years. This milestone underscores the community’s commitment to supporting those touched by cancer.
“We have all been touched by this horrible disease,” the committee stated, emphasizing that the support from the community is what makes these life-saving services possible.
