Mitchell Winter Guard places second at Greenwood competition

MITCHELL — The Mitchell Winter Guard earned a second-place finish in its division Saturday while competing in its second event of the 2026 season in Greenwood.

Performing its 2026 production, Dear Icarus, the team scored just 0.6 points behind first place, marking a strong early-season showing and highlighting the group’s competitive position.

The ensemble is coached by Nicki Mitchell and Ellie Carr, with choreography by Sydney Harris and drill design by Scott Carr. Under their leadership, the team has continued to build momentum, showing increased cohesion and technical refinement with each performance.

Mitchell Winter Guard will continue its competitive season in the coming weeks as it refines Dear Icarus and prepares for upcoming events.
