Coldest Night of the Year Walk to support Men’s Warming Shelter of Bedford

BEDFORD- The Men’s Warming Shelter of Bedford will host its third annual Coldest Night of the Year Walk for Homelessness on Saturday, February 28, bringing the community together to raise funds and awareness for local residents experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

The family-friendly event features a 1-mile or 5-kilometer walk/run and is open to participants of all ages. Funds raised through the event directly support the Men’s Warming Shelter of Bedford, which serves hundreds of homeless and underhoused individuals in the community each year.

Participants can register for free, form or join a team, collect donations from friends and family, or contribute as sponsors. Event check-in begins at 4 p.m., followed by the walk at 5 p.m. A meal and awards presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held at First Christian Church, located at 1101 K Street in Bedford.

The fundraising goal for this year’s walk is $20,000. Those interested in participating, donating, or volunteering can register online at cnoy.org/location/bedford. Additional information is available by calling 812-797-2057 or emailing cnoystorecityalliance@gmail.com.

Organizers encourage the community to come out, walk together, and help provide warmth, care, and hope to neighbors in need during the coldest time of year.
