BEDFORD – Lawrence County Independent Schools has officially opened its new student enrollment application period for the 2026–2027 school year. LCIS is a public K–8 charter school offering a supportive, student-centered learning environment focused on helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
LCIS emphasizes small class sizes, individualized attention, and hands-on learning experiences across all grade levels. The school provides a dedicated and experienced staff, strong academic and student support services, free breakfast and lunch for all students, bus transportation, aftercare programming, and the Little Phoenix Learning Center Pre-K program.

In addition, kindergarten screening for the upcoming school year will take place on March 11. Families with incoming kindergarten students should contact Mrs. McFaddin at 812-807-6001 to schedule an appointment.
