Free tech training coming to Martin County: Code/IT Academy opens applications

LOOGOOTEE – Residents of Martin County looking to break into the technology sector now have a streamlined, cost-free path to do so. The Code/IT Academy has announced a new 10-week intensive program designed to equip locals with the technical skills necessary to compete in today’s digital economy.

The program, a collaborative effort involving The Mill and Ivy Tech Community College, aims to bridge the skills gap by offering professional-grade instruction at no cost to participants.

The academy is specifically structured for working adults and those balancing other commitments, featuring:

  • Zero Cost: Full training is provided for free to accepted applicants.
  • No Experience Needed: The curriculum is beginner-friendly, requiring no prior formal IT experience.
  • Flexible Schedule: To accommodate professional schedules, classes are held in the evenings twice a week.
  • Career Focused: The curriculum focuses on “in-demand skills” specifically identified by regional employers.

The upcoming session is scheduled to run from February 17 through April 23. Classes will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

By condensing the curriculum into a fast-paced, 10-week format, the Code/IT Academy intends to move students from “curious” to “career-ready” in just under three months.

Prospective students can find more information or begin the application process by scanning the QR code featured on the program’s official flyers. For specific inquiries regarding the curriculum or eligibility, the academy can be reached via email at Bloomington-CodeIT@ivytech.edu.
