NLCS invites families to “Preparing Our Kids for Success” Title I meeting

BEDFORD – North Lawrence Community Schools is inviting parents and caregivers to attend “Preparing Our Kids for Success,” a free annual Title I meeting designed to support families in helping students thrive both at home and in school. The event will take place Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dollens Elementary School, located at 903 Hoosier Avenue in Oolitic.

The evening is open to parents and caregivers of all NLCS students and will focus on practical strategies families can use to support academic success. Topics will include effective ways to help children arrive at school ready to learn, strengthening communication between home and school, improving overall school performance, and using homework tools and online assignment systems effectively.

Additional discussion will center on the importance of creating structure and stability for children, recognizing and understanding signs of trauma, and reconnecting with parents’ hopes and goals for their children’s future. The program is designed to be informative, encouraging, and accessible for families at all stages.

Free childcare will be provided by NLCS staff members, allowing parents and caregivers to participate fully in the meeting. While the event is free to attend, pre-registration is required. Families can register by scanning the QR code on the flyer or by visiting https://bit.ly/LCParentproject. Those who complete the pre-registration form will be contacted with additional details.

School officials encourage families to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to gain tools, resources, and support aimed at helping every child succeed.
