Free “Get Fit!” program encourages healthy movement in Greene County

BLOOMFIELD – Adults looking for a fun, low-impact way to stay active in the new year are invited to take part in the Get Fit! Program, a free community fitness initiative hosted by Purdue Extension–Greene County in partnership with the Greene County Health Department.

The program begins Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and will run weekly through March 24 at the Greene County Community Event Center. Sessions will be held every Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. and are open to adults ages 18 and older.

Get Fit! is designed to make exercise approachable and enjoyable, focusing on low-impact movement suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. Participants will receive guided fitness instruction, healthy snacks, and opportunities to earn incentives while building healthier habits in a supportive group setting.

Organizers say the program is ideal for anyone wanting to improve their physical activity without high-intensity workouts. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a drink to class.

The program is completely free, but RSVP is required. Those interested can contact the Purdue Extension Office at 812-659-2122 for more information or to reserve a spot.

The Get Fit! Program reflects Purdue Extension’s ongoing commitment to promoting wellness and accessible health education throughout the community.
