CASA seeks new volunteers for January training session

BEDFORD – Lawrence County CASA will begin its next volunteer training session on January 20, offering community members an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the life of a child. CASA volunteers serve as a consistent, caring voice for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are navigating the court system.

By becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate, volunteers work closely with judges, caseworkers, and families to ensure a child’s best interests remain the top priority. CASA volunteers gather information, build relationships, and advocate for safe, permanent outcomes for children during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Organizers encourage residents to consider making CASA service a New Year’s resolution, noting that one committed adult can have a life-changing impact on a child’s future. No legal background is required—only compassion, reliability, and a willingness to speak up for children who cannot speak for themselves.
