NLCS to host “Preparing Our Kids for Success” workshop Jan. 13 at Dollens Elementary

OOLITIC — North Lawrence Community Schools will host a free family-focused workshop, Preparing Our Kids for Success, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at Dollens Elementary School, 903 Hoosier Avenue in Oolitic. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is open to all NLCS parents and caregivers. Free childcare will be provided on site by NLCS staff.

The annual Title I meeting is designed to give families practical tools that support student learning and well-being. Topics will include strategies for improving attendance, strengthening communication between home and school, boosting academic performance and using homework and online information systems more effectively. Parents will also learn about creating structure for children, recognizing signs of trauma and reconnecting with their long-term goals for their students.

Registration is available by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or by visiting https://bit.ly/LCParentproject. After completing the pre-registration form, participants will be contacted with additional details.

NLCS officials encourage families across the district to attend and take advantage of the free resources and support.
