INDIANAPOLIS — Four powerhouse programs are set to collide in downtown Indianapolis on December 20 as the 2025 Indy Classic returns to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, presented this year by Bush’s® Chili Beans. The annual showcase brings together some of the nation’s most competitive college basketball teams—and this year’s matchups promise intensity from the opening tip.

Purdue will take on Auburn in a nationally anticipated showdown between two programs known for physical play, elite recruiting, and deep postseason runs. The Boilermakers return to Indianapolis hungry to make a statement, while Auburn arrives with its trademark speed and aggressive defensive style. Fans can expect a high-tempo, high-pressure battle between two teams consistently ranked among the nation’s best.
In the second matchup, Butler meets Northwestern in a classic Midwest faceoff. Butler’s disciplined, methodical style contrasts with Northwestern’s sharp perimeter offense, setting the stage for a strategic and tightly contested game. With both programs boasting strong fan bases in Indiana and Illinois, the atmosphere inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse will feel more like a tournament environment than a regular-season game.
This year’s Indy Classic also serves as a major fundraiser supporting Indiana Sports Corp’s community-focused mission. Fans attending can expect Bush’s® Chili Beans–themed activations, giveaways, and branded experiences throughout the arena.
