Hoosiers’ Curt Cignetti repeats as Big Ten Coach of the Year amid historic 12-0 season

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana University football head coach Curt Cignetti has been named the Big Ten Coach of the Year for the second straight season, an unprecedented honor that follows a record-shattering year for the Hoosiers program.

Cignetti led the IU football team to a perfect 12-0 regular season for the first time in program history, capping off a remarkable turnaround since his arrival in Bloomington. In both years Cignetti has been at the helm, the Hoosiers have set a new program record for total wins in a single season.

This flawless regular season vaulted the Hoosiers to the No. 2 ranking in the nation and secured their first-ever berth in the Big Ten Championship Game.

The Hoosiers will now face the ultimate challenge in a monumental No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Big Ten Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m. ET and will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
