BEDFORD — A wave of generosity swept through Lawrence County on Sunday as the annual Cops & Kids Christmas fundraiser at Bandana’s Bar and Grill shattered previous records, bringing in more than $19,000 to support local children.

What began as a steady stream of donations quickly grew into a day filled with packed tables, nonstop giving, and community members determined to make sure no child goes without a Christmas.

The impact of the Cops & Kids fundraiser reaches far beyond the gifts purchased each December. The money raised helps ensure that children facing hardship experience a Christmas filled with warmth, stability, and joy at a time when their families may be struggling the most. Officers say the program builds trust between law enforcement and local youth, creates lasting memories for children who often go without, and strengthens the sense of community across Lawrence County. Every dollar raised directly supports a child in need, turning financial donations into moments of hope that stay with these families long after the holiday season ends.

The fundraiser, held at Bandana’s Bar and Grill at 1220 5th Street, drew families, business owners, longtime supporters, and first-time donors on a mission to invest in the children of our community.
