Orange County honors Revolutionary War patriots with wreath laying; Rededication set for July 4th

PAOLI—The Orange County America 250 Committee recently paid tribute to the county’s Revolutionary War soldiers and patriots, marking the graves of those buried locally with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony. The event highlights the county’s preparations for the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.

The wreath was placed at the Memorial Marker dedicated to these patriots, which is located on the Orange County Courthouse lawn in Paoli.

Members representing key patriotic organizations participated in the ceremony:

  • Robert F. Henderson, who serves as the Orange County America 250 Connect Leader.
  • Gordon Bell, representing The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
  • Lila Tucker, representing the Lost River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

The memorial marker is scheduled to be formally rededicated on the upcoming July 4th, underscoring Orange County’s commitment to honoring its place in America’s founding history as the nation approaches its Semiquincentennial in 2026.
