BEDFORD — The shelves at L.I.F.E. Food Pantry are thinning heading into the holiday season, and local organizers say the community’s help is urgently needed. On Saturday, Nov. 22, WQRK Classic Hits 105.5, WBIW 1340 AM and LiteFM 102.5 will host their annual “Stuff A Bus for L.I.F.E.” food drive to help restock the items families rely on most.
This year, the pantry reports especially high demand for canned meats, flour and sugar, macaroni n’ cheese, coffee, tea, canned fruit, small dish detergent, toilet paper and basic household staples. Residents are asked to bring items from home — with a reminder to check expiration dates before donating — or to make a cash contribution if they cannot shop. Pantry volunteers say these specific items go out the door almost as quickly as they come in.

L.I.F.E. can accept any food that can be purchased at a grocery store, and has the capacity to refrigerate donations when needed. Store sacks are also requested, as they are used daily to package groceries for clients. With holiday requests already rising, pantry workers say these supplies determine how many families they can help in the weeks ahead.
The three hometown stations have hosted the drive for more than 30 years, calling it one of the most important community efforts they take on each year. Rogers Group Inc. is again partnering with the stations to help highlight needs and support the pantry’s mission.
