Community Vigil planned to honor Charlie Kirk at fairgrounds

BEDFORD – A community vigil to honor Charlie Kirk will be held on Saturday, October 18th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.

Organized by Lisa Dalton, Dorenia McIntosh, and Angie Hall, the event aims to unite the community, honor Kirk’s work, and “bring peace to our hearts.” Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, as the vigil will be held in the grass area of the park pavilion.

The event will feature a lineup of speakers and preachers, including:

  • Speakers/Preachers: Kyle Fisher, Jordan Phillips, Jason Filler, Johnnie Herald, and Jim Gore.
  • Special Performances: Steve Edington (bagpipes) and Rebecca Reed (sign language).
  • Community Leaders: Zach Mays and State Representative Chris May.

Organizers will be distributing bracelets, unity candles, buttons, and flags until supplies run out. The theme of the vigil emphasizes community compassion and adherence to the biblical tenet to “Love thy neighbor.”
