Monroe County Master Gardeners to host Fall Fling Sept. 27

BLOOMINGTON — Gardeners, nature lovers, and anyone eager to bring more life to their landscapes are invited to the Fall Fling on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Ivy Tech Community College’s Shreve Hall. Hosted by the Monroe County Master Gardener Association, this annual gathering promises inspiration, practical skills, and expert guidance on creating gardens that thrive with beauty and biodiversity.

The program will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with doors opening at 8 a.m. Attendees will enjoy three engaging presentations led by specialists in the field. Paul Bouseman will share strategies for “Landscape Design with Native Plants,” guiding participants on how to transform their yards into sustainable, thriving habitats. Tabby Flinn will focus on “Gardening for Pollinators,” teaching ways to attract and support bees, butterflies, and other essential species. Rounding out the program, Edward Oehlman will present on “Gardening for Birds,” offering insight on how to create welcoming spaces that bring song and color to gardens year-round.

The cost to attend is $15 per person, payable by PayPal or check. With seating limited, early registration is encouraged. Proceeds help support the educational outreach of the Monroe County Master Gardener Association.
