SEYMOUR — The Jackson County Public Library will host a special program celebrating Indiana author Gene Stratton-Porter on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 12 p.m. The event will feature historian Glory-June Greiff, who will give a dramatic performance bringing the Hoosier naturalist and novelist to life.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and will be held at the library’s Seymour branch, 303 W. Second St. Attendance is limited to 40 participants, and registration is required by Thursday, Sept. 18. The event is open to all ages.

Stratton-Porter, born in Wabash County in 1863, became one of Indiana’s most widely read authors, known for works such as A Girl of the Limberlost and Freckles. She was also a noted nature photographer and conservationist. Greiff’s performance will highlight both her literary contributions and her dedication to preserving Indiana’s natural heritage.
