SEYMOUR — The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts (SICA) is hosting a pottery glazing event this Saturday, August 2, giving the community an opportunity to participate in the creative process.
From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., guests will have the chance to glaze a ceramic piece created by SICA artists. The event will showcase how a chalk-like liquid transforms into a smooth, glass-like surface with vibrant colors after the piece is fired in a high-temperature kiln. The process involves chemical reactions during firing that fuse the glaze to the clay body.
The cost to attend is $30 for guests and $20 for SICA members. The event will take place at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts.
