SPENCER – Older adults concerned about falls can gain practical strategies and increase activity levels through the “Matter of Balance” program, an award-winning, evidence-based fall prevention initiative offered by Purdue University Extension.

The program, designed to help participants manage falls and overcome fears that restrict their activities, is sponsored by The Area 10 Agency on Aging. Upon registration and attendance, special incentives will be provided by the Owen County Health Department.
Sessions will be held on Mondays, August 12, 19, 26, and September 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, all beginning at 10 a.m. The program will take place at the Owen County Public Library, located at 10 S. Montgomery St., Spencer, IN 47460.
Pre-registration is required and can be completed by calling 812-829-5020.
Individuals requiring accommodations to attend the program should contact Jamie Jo Lowder by Aug. 5 at 812-829-5020 or via email at lowder0@purdue.edu.
