Outdoor Youth Day returns to Mitchell on Sept. 6

MITCHELL – Young outdoor enthusiasts are invited to participate in the annual Outdoor Youth Day on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at the Sugar Creek Sporting Clays & Hunting Preserve, located at 2191 Bono Road in Mitchell. The event aims to provide hands-on learning experiences in various outdoor activities.

The day will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 10 a.m. A free lunch will be served from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring a chair for dining.

Designed for ages 10 and up, the event will feature six rotating stations where participants can learn about firearm, water, and ATV safety, forestry and tree identification, fishing, archery, pollinators, and raptor conservation. Attendees 18 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
