BLOOMINGTON – SERVPRO of Bloomington and SERVPRO of Lawrence, Owen, Greene, and Martin Counties have announced a community initiative to provide $500 in school supplies to two local schools, and they are calling on the public for assistance.

The program will award school supplies to two winning schools across Monroe, Lawrence, Owen, Greene, and Martin Counties. Last year’s recipients included Eastern Greene Elementary School and Burris Elementary School, which received multiple boxes of their requested supplies.
From now until Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the two schools with the most votes will each win $500 in school supplies. To cast a vote, individuals must post the name of their chosen school in the comment section of the original social media post announcing the giveaway.
Key voting rules:
- Only one vote per person is permitted.
- Participants are encouraged to like, share, and tag friends, teachers, classmates, parents, and local businesses to help spread the word.
- Schools are also urged to share the post with their communities.
- The two schools across the five eligible counties (Monroe, Lawrence, Owen, Greene, or Martin) with the highest number of mentions in the comments will be declared the winners.
Winners will be announced on social media on Tuesday, August 12, with supplies delivered shortly thereafter.
SERVPRO also issued a caution regarding potential scams. The company advises the public not to click on any suspicious links and emphasizes that they will not request any personal information or payment to claim a prize. Winners will be determined solely by the number of mentions on the original post.
