BNL Softball to celebrate 42nd Anniversary with alumni game, home run derby on Jul. 16

BEDFORD — Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) High School Softball will celebrate 42 years of tradition and talent this Wednesday with a community event packed with nostalgia, competition, and family fun.

The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. on July 16 at the BNL Turf Field and will feature an alumni softball game, a home run derby showcasing recent record-breaking stars, and an open public derby where fans can pay to swing for the fences.

The event honors more than four decades of BNL softball history, which includes numerous sectional and regional titles, as well as the development of standout athletes who’ve helped build a strong legacy for the Stars.

In addition to the games, guests can enjoy a variety of attractions, including a “Chuck-a-Duck” contest, a 50/50 raffle, and a fully stocked concession stand. Commemorative T-shirts, throwback jerseys, and other merchandise will be available for purchase.

Organizers encourage alumni and fans alike to “come stretched and ready” to participate, cheer, and support the program that has meant so much to generations of players and fans.

Admission is free, with some activities, such as the public home run derby, requiring a small fee to participate. All proceeds will benefit the BNL Softball program.
