Jackson County United Way Kicks Off School Supply Collection with Strong Start

SEYMOUR – The Jackson County United Way of Indiana began its annual School Supplies Collection Week on Sunday with significant success, bringing in a large volume of supplies and collecting over $1,400 in monetary donations. Organizers reported that it was the best Sunday turnout for the drive in several years.

Volunteers braved warm temperatures to collect donations. The drive is seeking specific items including composition notebooks, blunt-tipped scissors, 24-count Crayola crayons, 1-inch 3-ring binders, and dry-erase markers.

For those who missed the first day of collection, volunteers will be out again Monday morning starting at 10 a.m outside of their Walmart, located at E Tipton St, Seymour, IN 47274.

The Jackson County United Way’s efforts aim to ensure students have the necessary resources for the upcoming school year.
