INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help at the popular DNR Fishin’ Pond during this year’s Indiana State Fair, which runs from August 1 to 17. With more days dedicated to kids’ fishing, there are now even more opportunities to lend a hand.

Volunteers are needed to assist young anglers on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, as well as every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during both morning and afternoon shifts. Each shift is four hours long, running from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..
In appreciation for their time, volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, complimentary admission to the fair, and free parking on the day of their shift.

“This popular event wouldn’t be possible without the amazing volunteers who offer their time and talent to make the Fishin’ Pond a success,” stated a DNR representative. “On behalf of the young anglers who get to enjoy the pond, thank you.”
Register for a shift at the DNR Fishin’ Pond and be part of this beloved State Fair attraction.
