BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington is seeking volunteers to participate in “Weed Wrangles – Invasive Plant Awareness Days,” an initiative designed to control invasive species and promote healthier wildlife habitats. These workdays provide an opportunity to learn from experts while contributing to local conservation efforts.

Volunteers will be involved in physical tasks such as bending, hiking, and climbing as needed, and will be using sharp tools. Gloves and tools will be provided.
Participants are advised that this is a workday and should dress appropriately for outdoor, wooded conditions to ensure safety. Recommended attire includes long pants and sturdy shoes, along with bringing a hat, bug spray, a water bottle, and possibly a long-sleeved shirt or t-shirt. The aim is to protect against overheating, scratches, insect bites, and ticks.

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age. An adult must accompany those under 14, and volunteers under 18 are required to have an Underage Waiver of Liability signed by a parent or guardian. A digital waiver can be completed by clicking the provided link.
