Community generosity fuels massive success for 2025 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

BLOOMINGTON – The collective generosity of South Central Indiana residents, coupled with the dedicated efforts of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Branch 828, has made the 2025 Stamp Out Hunger food drive a resounding success. The annual initiative has collected a remarkable 77,370 pounds of nonperishable food, providing crucial support to thousands of Hoosiers grappling with food insecurity.

A significant portion of the collected food, 35,031 pounds, has been delivered to the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. This substantial donation will play a vital role in helping regional food pantries replenish their shelves, particularly as they prepare for the challenging summer months when demand for food assistance often rises.

Organizers expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the drive’s success, highlighting that “Every can, box, and bag added up to something bigger: hope.” The effort was a testament to the community’s compassion, with volunteers and donors alike dedicating their time and resources to sorting, lifting, and caring for their neighbors.

“Together, you made a difference—one meal, one mailbox, one neighbor at a time,” stated a representative from the NALC Branch 828, underscoring the collaborative spirit that made this year’s Stamp Out Hunger drive a powerful success story for addressing food insecurity in the multi-county area.
