Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office hiring 911 dispatchers

BEDFORD—The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the 911 dispatcher position. The starting annual salary is $42,260, or $20.31 per hour. Interested candidates must submit their applications by Thursday, June 20, to be considered.

Dispatchers play a critical role in emergency response, serving as the first point of contact for individuals in crisis. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants who are dependable, calm under pressure, and eager to serve their community through vital communication support.

The position includes several benefits, such as 15 to 17 paid holidays annually—adding an estimated $2,500 to $2,800 in extra pay—along with paid time off, compensatory or paid overtime, a PERF pension plan, and access to health, dental, and vision insurance. Uniforms are also provided.
