BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence seniors Cal Gates and Tate Tanksley were named to the Hoosier Hills Conference’s First Team by the league coaches.
Gates, an Indiana South All-Star selection as an outfielder who has signed with Indiana University, hit .557 with 7 home runs and 43 runs scored. He was also a First Team honoree in 2024.
Tanksley, a standout catcher, hit .440 with 2 home runs and 30 RBIs as BNL went 19-7.
The rest of the First Team included Braylen Gray, Carter Williams and Cash Waters from league champion Jeffersonville; Braden Richey, Mikey Wright and Brady Harpe from sectional champion Seymour; New Albany’s Kadin Bush, Tyler McMillen and Gavin Rand; Floyd Central’s Ross Jackson and Garyth Davenport; Columbus East’s J.D. Robert; and Jennings County’s Ethan Speer.
BNL’s Cam Gates and Cutler Chastain were named Honorable Mention. Gates hit .324 while playing shortstop and catcher, and he was also 6-0 with a 1.31 ERA on the mound. Chastain was 3-2 on the mound (2.93 ERA), and he hit .271.
