Bloomington Parks and Recreation launches Tuesday Market at Hopewell Commons

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market has expanded its offerings with the launch of the Tuesday Market at Hopewell Commons, located at 332 West University Street. The market officially opened on June 3 and operates from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Tuesday Market features farm vendors offering fresh, locally grown products, alongside prepared food vendors who utilize local ingredients in their ready-to-eat meals. Admission is free, and convenient parking is available nearby. The inaugural Tuesday Market saw over 300 attendees. For those using public transportation, the #2 South Rogers/Countryview bus route provides access to the market, with a stop at Rogers Street and First Street.

This Tuesday, Shelby Drake, Parks and Recreation’s Health & Wellness Coordinator, will host a Chipotle cooking demonstration. The demonstration will feature vegetables, herbs, and meats sourced from local farm vendors. In addition to recipe cards, the demo will include an educational segment on proper sodium intake and food safety. The cooking demonstration activities are scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
