IU Health to host free six-session Healthy Brain Workshop

SEYMOUR — Do you want to build brain-healthy routines and expand your knowledge base to keep your brain sharp and age well? IU Health, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Service of Indiana University Health, is offering a free six-session workshop on healthy brain habits.

The workshop is designed to provide participants with simple lifestyle adjustments to enhance brain health and prevent decline. Topics will include an introduction to a lifestyle-based approach to brain health, the impact of nutrition, movement, rest, social connection, stress management, purpose and learning, and maintaining lifestyle changes for a healthy brain.

“Commitment to all six sessions is required to gain the full benefit of this comprehensive program,” organizers said.

All sessions will be held at the Community Foundation of Jackson County, located at 107 Community Drive in Seymour.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

  • July 30, 2025, 10 – 11:30 a.m.: Introduction to a Lifestyle-based Approach to Brain Health and Wellness
  • August 6, 2025, 10 – 11:30 a.m.: Nutrition and the Impact of What You Eat on Your Brain
  • August 13, 2025, 10 – 11:30 a.m.: Movement and Rest: How Do We Make Sure We are Getting Enough of Each?
  • August 20, 2025, 10 – 11:30 a.m.: Social Connection and Stress Management as a Brain Booster
  • August 27, 2025, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Purpose, Learning and Discovery
  • September 3, 2025, 10 – 11:30 a.m.: Maintaining a Lifestyle Change for a Healthy Brain Going Forward
