INDIANA– Average gasoline prices in Indiana have remained unchanged over the past week, holding at $3.19 per gallon today, according to a GasBuddy survey of 3,271 stations across the state.

While current prices are 14.5 cents per gallon higher than they were a month ago, they are significantly lower, by 42.6 cents per gallon, compared to this time last year. The national average price of gasoline remained unchanged over the previous week, averaging $3.13 per gallon today, up 3.1 cents from a month ago but 43.0 cents lower than a year ago.
The cheapest station in Indiana yesterday was reportedly priced at $2.27 per gallon, while the most expensive reached $3.69 per gallon, a difference of $1.42. The national average price of diesel, however, has decreased by 3.2 cents in the last week, settling at $3.476 per gallon.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, commented on the national trend: “While the national average didn’t fall quite as far as anticipated for Memorial Day, it was still one of the most affordable since 2021— and, when adjusted for inflation, among the cheapest in nearly a decade.”
Looking ahead to the summer, De Haan anticipates a relatively stable period for gas prices as refinery maintenance concludes. He does not expect the national average to rise above $3.30 per gallon or drop much below $3 for the time being. De Haan also noted that while refining issues on the West Coast are easing, factors such as the upcoming hurricane season could still influence prices.
Neighboring areas show slightly varied prices, with Champaign, Illinois, at $3.26/g (unchanged), Indianapolis at $3.22/g (unchanged), and Cincinnati at $2.98/g (unchanged).
