JEFFERSONVILLE – Bedford North Lawrence finished sixth in the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament during boys high school golf action at Elk Run Golf Club in Jeffersonville on Tuesday.
The Stars posted a team total of 323 in the seven-team field. Floyd Central won the title with 302, followed by Columbus East (313) and Jennings County (314) at the top of a tight leaderboard.
”We got off to a really good start but struggled on the back nine,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “We made some big numbers that were definitely avoidable. There were some low team scores and we were right there. We just need to cut down on the doubles, and we will be in good shape.”
Tyler Bellush paced the Stars with 4-over 76 (highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 second hole) to earn All-HHC honors. Hudson Martin was Honorable Mention with a 77.
Floyd Central’s Josh Anderson was the medalist with a 2-under 70.
BNL will host Mitchell and West Washington on Thursday at Otis Park.
