Glenwood “Harold” Hackney, 82, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at IU Health in Bedford. Harold was born on March 22, 1943, in Jonesville, Virginia, to Carson Hackney, Sr., and Belle (Hopkins) Hackney. Harold married Judith Gayle Johnson on August 29, 1969; they shared 55 years of marriage. Harold worked at Carpenter’s Body Works in Mitchell for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hackney, two daughters, Ginger Burton, and Kristy Christensen, two sons, Eric Hackney, and Josh Hackney, nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Evan, Traven, Briannah, Jaycie, Chance, Skyler, Mariah, and Lacey, five great grandchildren, Kloey, Keagan, Zayla, Jayden, and Marli.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carson Hackney, Jr., and Joe Hackney, two sisters, Peggy Cox, and Lucille.
