BEDFORD—The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County has announced its summer program lineup for students completing grades K-6.
A traditional Summer Camp will be held at the Limestone Unit, 2009 19th Street in Bedford, from June 2 to July 25. This program operates daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with registration available weekly for $60 or daily for $15.
In addition, the club is introducing free Summer Learning Labs in Mitchell at Burris Elementary and in Bedford at the Thornton Teen Center. These labs will run concurrently from June 16 to July 18, operating daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The curriculum will focus on math and reading in the morning, followed by standard Boys & Girls Club activities in the afternoon. Daily attendance is required for the free Learning Labs.
Members participating in any of the three summer programs will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. All locations will be closed on Thursday, June 19, for Juneteenth and Friday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday; the weekly Summer Camp fee will be adjusted accordingly for those weeks.
Parents can register their children for any of the summer options through the online Parent Portal at https://mch-lawrencecountyin.my.site.com/portal/s/login-home. The Boys & Girls Club notes that space in the free Summer Learning Labs may be limited, encouraging early registration.
For inquiries, interested individuals can contact the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County via email at info@bgcblc.org or by phone at 812-279-6123. Participation in all summer programs requires the child to have completed kindergarten.
