BLOOMINGTON – Officials with the City of Bloomington, Indiana, Sanitation Department are clarifying recent confusion regarding bulk item pickup services. The department has received inquiries stemming from a misunderstanding that free bulk item pickup is currently being offered.
According to the department, this rumor appears to originate from Bloomington, Illinois, which is offering free bulk item pickup this month.
“We’ve heard that our sanitation crews are picking up bulk items for free this month. Unfortunately… that’s not us,” the City of Bloomington, Indiana, Sanitation Department said in a statement. “We looked into the rumor and discovered we’ve been confused with Bloomington, Illinois. Womp womp.”
While Bloomington, Indiana, does offer bulk item pickup services for its residents, it is not currently a free service. The fees for bulk item pickup in Bloomington, Indiana, are as follows:
- $25 per large item
- $35 per appliance
