BLOOMINGTON– Get ready for a summer filled with free entertainment! The City of Bloomington, in partnership with Visit Bloomington, is bringing back its popular Performing Arts Series, offering free live concerts in various parks throughout the summer, starting this May.

Residents and visitors can enjoy local musicians performing at People’s Park, Bryan Park, and The Waldron, Hill, and Buskirk Parks throughout May and the entire summer season. A new addition this year is the introduction of concerts at the city’s newest green space, Hopewell Commons, with performances scheduled on alternating Tuesdays. For a complete schedule of dates, times, and featured artists, residents are encouraged to click here.
The city also extends its gratitude to its long-standing Performing Arts Series partners: the Bloomington Community Band, the Bloomington Jazz Orchestra, the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, and the Monroe County Civic Theater, acknowledging their invaluable support in making the series a continued success.
The fun doesn’t stop with music! In partnership with Cicada Cinema, the Movies in the Parks Series will kick off on Saturday, May 24th, immediately following the Summer Launch Party in Bryan Park. The first movie night will feature a free showing of the family-friendly film Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (rated PG), starting at 9:00 p.m. on a brand-new movie screen. A complete list of movies scheduled for the summer can be found here.
Mark your calendars and bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy a summer of free concerts and movies in Bloomington’s beautiful parks.
