Senior Fair to offer resources, free lunch in Bedford

BEDFORD — Seniors and their caregivers can connect with a variety of resources at the upcoming WBIW/WQRK Senior Fair. Brought to you by premier title sponsor Vertical Home Health, the free event will take place on Wednesday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, located at 508 Fellowship Drive in Bedford.

The fair will feature numerous exhibitors showcasing products, services, and valuable information for the senior community. Seniors of all ages are encouraged to attend this free event.

A highlight of the fair will be a free senior lunch, provided by Stonebridge Helath Campus of Bedford, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will have a choice of either a Pork BBQ Sandwich with chips, macaroni and cheese, and cole slaw or a Chicken Salad Sandwich with a pickle spear, potato soup, and a fruit cup. The lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis, and quantities are limited.

Attendees can also enjoy free bingo from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with prizes donated by local businesses. Additionally, several free health screenings will be available, including blood pressure checks offered by Vertical Home Health and IU Health Bedford Rural Dementia Network. The Bedford Lions Club will provide vision and blood glucose screenings, while Beltone will offer free hearing evaluations. The Lawrence County Health Department will conduct immunization record screenings, and Indiana Health Centers will provide blood pressure readings while Help You Hear will offer free hearing evaluations.
