BEDFORD — The Bedford Farmers Market is set to open its 2025 season on Saturday, May 17th, and will run until Saturday, October 25th. The market, a fixture of the downtown area, operates every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., though vendors may stay longer to accommodate customers.
The market offers a variety of locally grown and handcrafted goods. All items sold are handmade or homegrown within Lawrence County and within a 75-mile radius of the courthouse. Reselling is strictly prohibited, and vendors are required to display their individual, business, or farm name within their booth.
Visitors to the market can find a diverse selection of products, including fresh produce, plants, farm-fresh eggs, and locally sourced meats such as beef, chicken, and pork. Baked goods are also a popular offering, with items like jams, jellies, sweet bread, pies, and cinnamon rolls frequently available.
Beyond food items, the market features artisans selling jewelry, tie-dye items, pottery, leather goods, baby items, candles, walking sticks, baskets, and crochet dolls and animals, among other arts and crafts. Vendors are expected to maintain their space in a clean and sanitary manner and wear appropriate attire and shoes at all times.
For those interested in becoming vendors, the annual fee for a 10×10 space is $50. Vendors who plan to participate for fewer than five weeks can opt for a weekly fee of $10. Reserved spots are available for an additional $10 per space, and electricity can be accessed for a small extra charge. Vendors must live in Lawrence County or within a 75-mile radius and sell only produce grown, products created, or services rendered by themselves.
